YesAsia Editorial Description

Have you been hit by Da Mouth's infectious new sound? Winning their second Golden Melody award last year with their third album One Two Three, the Taiwan hip-hop group is raring to go back in business with more sensational dance music and stylistic breakthroughs after an absence of one and a half years. Besides the titular lead single, their latest album ['influəns] features the heavy-beat electronic number "Who Do You Fear" as well as the romantic ballad "The Chance of Maybe", which is the opening theme song for idol drama Fondant Garden written and arranged by producer Adia.

This Preorder Version comes with a bonus DVD containing footage from Da Mouth's "Open Your Mouth" Christmas concert.

Super 'influens' – DM are Asia Gene Eclectic Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
They’re doing okay Da Mouth, you know. Its only recently though that I began listening to DM, and what powerful electronic dance melodies, delightful feeling hooks and downright charismatic electricity they output. Da Mouth’s latest “influens” is familiar Tron/Sci-fi type visual, urban dance territory to previous DM album “123” and maintains the bass heavy electro hip-hop with strong pull-you-in melodies and electro rock type hooks, that make DM instantly appealing. In fact it’s hard not to like DM, unless you don’t like pop music. The only thing that’s a bit of a darn is that the “influens” pre-order version with DVD live concert is now out of print. Pity as this DM visual performance intensifies “influens” a lot, (hopefully a re-issue with concert will pop up again). I have it, but I wish other night people could see it, too. Harry’s vocal hook on the dance heavy “infuens” is great (both melody and vocal) and the eccentric MC 40 with his charismatic stage presence and rap is superb. DJ Chung Hua absolutely is the cool DJ dude at the deck controls and together DM are One energetic foursome. Aisa not least is also marvelous! ^^ The songs ‘influens’, ‘Something Fishy’, ‘Open Your Damn Mouth’, ‘R u kiDdiNg mE (NERD?)’ and ‘Baboo’ are certainly the big heavy dance numbers. But Aisa sings her sweet vocal bits on the more moderate ‘Maybe’ that I liked and Aisa is a wonderful main singer on many songs. I chew my lip in saying this though, but Aisa keeps bringing Jolin T to mind (I can’t help it, its just me – but if you love Jolin’s dance-centric songs you’ll love Da Mouth!).

There’s familiar auto-Cher-Pain-tune though (the broken electro vocal that video game “Lollipop Chainsaw” girl Juliet Starling refers to as ‘sounding like Professor Hawking’) but although DM use this common practice (probably too much of this ‘worn cassette tape voice’ in modern dance pop) the gang mostly use true vocals (especially live). Anyway, I really like Da Mouth, they’re a great energetic bunch and it would be interesting to see them in the Europe/US market. They’ve got the juice no doubt, their stage shows are universally and visually electric (brilliant!) and their personalities are great (funny, charismatic, charming). As I post you can still get this “influens” four-member autograph version (grab ‘em quick – I did!), which also comes with large booklet and individual picture cards. If you love Asia dance pop (esp G-Dragon, T.O.P and BEP. etc) don’t pass on this album.
