Adapted from the award-winning Italian black comedy Perfect Strangers, The Fatal Encounter director Lee Jae Kyu's Intimate Strangers assembles a great cast of actors – Yu Hae Jin (1987: When the Day Comes), Jo Jin Woong (The Spy Gone North), Lee Seo Jin (Love Forecast), Yeom Jung Ah (The Mimic), Kim Ji Soo (Gangnam Blues), Song Ha Yoon (Whistle Blower) and Yoon Kyung Ho (On Your Wedding Day) – to play close acquaintances who don't know each other as well as they thought.
Three married couples and a single man gather at Seok Ho (Cho Jin Woong) and Ye Jin's (Kim Ji Soo) house for a housewarming dinner party. While bringing up the topic of love affairs, everyone claims that there are no secrets on their phones. Ye Jin then suggests to play a game: all of them have to reveal any incoming phone calls and messages until the dinner ends. As the game proceeds, different secrets start to surface.
