The Lan Ling theater troupe started 40 years ago and kicked off a small theater movement in Taiwan. Though the troupe disbanded in 1991, from then on the actors got together every ten years to perform an old play. In 2018, the members of Lan Ling reunited again under the leadership of King Shih Chieh to recreate their 1983 work Experimental Actors Studio, which combines theater games with the life experiences of the actors. Lan Ling 40th: Experimental Actors Studio is directed by Lan Ling actor Angelika Wang, who picked up the camera to record the rehearsal process and the daily interactions of the troupe. The documentary features interviews with many Lan Ling members, including King Shih Chieh, Wu Jing Jyi, Liu Ruo Yu. Ma Ting Ni, Yang Li Yin, Danny Deng, Chao Tzu Chiang and Yu An Shun.
