I had watched this movie in Vietnamese and would have liked the movie if all the men didn't die or at least keep the main character's men alive, it's just so annoying. Like the other review "I felt cheated"! The 2nd half of the movie felt like another movie as the main character disappeared for like 6 episodes and it didn't show the 6 years that had lapse. Made me wonder how old the man character was as she never was married, when in other male hero movies they have several women. Really strange that none of the many women had children to show for it at the end of the movie, like a horrible curse! Yet, the women were still faithful to their men even though they did them dirty. I am just so upset that these women had to sacrifice themselves and their happiness for a stupid king! Ah...so annoyed.

it was kinda slow at the beginning but it got better!!! the ending made me cry!! and me being a girl... it was good to see the yang ladies stand up!!! and me being of a yang descend... i felt it. i love this one. i think its a must watch!!! you will not feel bad after wards!!! i cried.

well, want my opinion on this series? didnt my title explain everything already?
a totally excellent cast, what a combination of the best from many countries in making this legendary film. the ending in contrast to usual comments is actually very appropriate as to show that all these widows and women in the Yang's family not only have the will to live on after their loved ones died but also a more-powerful-than-ever will. to me, the most tearjerking and heartbreaking touching scene would be when Yang An was in Ba Mei's lap when he was dying, as Ba Mei kept on saying many things but Yang An just kept absolute silent(intentionally) helplessly as he closely listened to every single word Ba Mei had to say as she told him to go to sleep. he was feeling the pain for leaving Ba Mei alone in the world and the guilt for making such a decision!!!
Carmen Lee is the main reason that i bought this film and im totally impressed with her acting skill as it keeps getting better and better through time. Also, the background theme music is more heroic and touching than ever that aids alot in the mood-creating effect. all actors and actresses are SUPERB. I would like to say thanks to all who had put reviews up here that persuaded me into buying this extraodinary film. for now, i just wanna get a bigger tv and more powerful sound system to better enjoy this great film(a new treasure in my favorite films collection box)

i found the film would have been better if carman lee's character was written for her, carman really didn't do a good job in the film, she basically relied on two expression for everything. if they were going to make her out to be 'the best' then they should have made someone to admire. carman lee was definitely more of a spoiled brat then anything else. Ning Jing's appearence in the film was definitely the highlight, from the word go she captured the audience with her 'egoistic' attitude, a woman in a man's world, definitely someone admirable. Theresa Lee would have been a good story if they did not downplay her in favor of Carman. pity for she would have stollen the show alot more then carman would.

A Feast for the Eyes with a Talented Cast Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I'm not quite finished watching this series, but I really recommend it based on the great acting and costumes. While I was disappointed in the resolution of the riveting love triangles in the first three quarters, and though the picture froze here and there while the sound kept going, I still think it's worth watching. The actors are so good. Tai Jun, the matriarch of the family is so warm and strong, quite a different role from Jade Fox in "Crouching Tiger"; Pai Feng is an attractive blend of domesticity and comedy with warrior woman; Jiang Bin is so charismatic and has such a transcendant beauty reminiscent of elves in Western fantasy art that I wished so bad he would turn good. I'm finding it a great way to learn Chinese and am pleased at the high level of production values that obviously went into it.
