August 3, 2010 Must see and must own
I saw this movie in the theaters 3 times. It is EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!! The acting is superb, the music outstanding and the story line so touching. Do yourself a favor and own this. I am thrilled this is being made available in a DVD. I have been waiting for this.
The Crescent MoonJanuary 14, 2008 Save your money
This was a total waste of time and money. Various characters were introduced who could have been developed to save this family/story but nothing was developed and characters were introduced only to disappear. The story had no climax, no highpoint, no nothing. Then it ended. Terrible!!!!!!!!!

October 14, 2007 A must see
Just saw this in the theater and I want to own it. It is a must see for those approaching their golden years and for those who are dealing with a parent with the early signs of Alzheimers. Slightly depressing, but very real. Mr. Watanabe put on a stellar performance.

May 25, 2007 Only O.K.
Just got done watching this. I watched it because a few friends had highly recommended it. I thought it was only so-so. I also get tired of watching someone be a doormat and continuing to take the punches while turning the other cheek. This got tiresome. The characters were not strong, the storyline predictable and the ending rather flat. Borrow it if you are going to watch it. Save your money because you won't watch it again if you purchase it.
Kim Se Hwan - Golden AlbumApril 26, 2007 Soothing
Bought this because he will be at the concert in LA at the Hollywood Bowl. I had never heard of him before but his music is absolutely soothing. Such a clear voice. Not a lot of "froo froo non music" to clutter up the background or mask his voice. Very pure.
All In (English Subtitle)(SBS TV series)1 people found this review helpful
March 15, 2007 Good drama, TERRIBLE subtitles
Just got done watching All In. Interesting characters, with Song Hye Gyo's acting being the weakest. She is not believable at all. Good acting by Lee Byung Hun and Ji Sung (pardon the spelling). The actor who was In Ha's (LBH) friend also played the part of Hae Mosu in Ju Mong. He did a great job. Great settings with beautiful scenery, all the more appreciated because I have taken 2 tours to visit these sites. Now, for the real irritant: The subtitles were absolutely abominable, terrible and irritiating. I had to stop the drama very frequently to try to decipher what the gist of the conversation was. Poor spelling, incorrect verb and subject agreement and just plain incoherent sentences. It is obvious that the person doing the translating does not speak English and was probably using a dictionary to literally translate each word. They had no clue what was being said, and neither did I. I had to check where I made this purchase as this is so unlike YesAsia. Translation: bad, bad, bad, bad.
Barefoot Gi Bong Special Edition DTSAugust 26, 2006 A Must See
This is an excellent film with laughter and sorrow. Although it does not quite measure up to Marathon, it is still a drama everyone should see. I am purchasing this to add to my library as I have just seen it in a theater. It is a keeper.

June 4, 2006 A Must See
Went to see this in the theater mostly because Jang Dong Gun is my favorite actor. This is an intriguing movie with a great storyline. At first it is difficult to understand because everything moves so fast. The viewer does not get to fully appreciate the visuals because one is busy trying to read the subtitles. This a a full action, very bloody movie. As the film moves along, the viewer begins to empathize with the characters and you see the mission of each and you wish for their success although their missions are poles apart. The two male actors epitomize who they are: one seemingly very evil and one very clean cut and good. But you want both to win for their cause. Excellent climax, excellent acting, excellent storyline. I would go to see this again and look forward to owning it.
Kim Jong Kook Vol. 3 - This Is MeFebruary 23, 2006 Must have
I first saw Kim Jong Kook on Music Bank and wondered who he was. (Can't read Korean). Taped a portion and took it to the local Korean video/cd store. The owner identified him and I bought the second and third cd collections. Both are excellent but this third collection is better (Kim Jong Kook Vol 3: This is Me). I especially enjoy #1 and #10, but they are all great. This collection is so worth your money. His voice is very soothing, with a variation of pace of songs. Some slow, some upbeat.
TAEGUKGI OSTSeptember 10, 2004 Must Buy
I bought this cd before I saw the movie. The music was just beautiful. After I saw the movie, the cd is not only beautiful, it is heart-wrenching and brings back the scenes from the movie. I am reliving it through listening to the music. You must add this to your collection. It includes 2 tracks of dialogue from the movie. The second makes me teary-eyed each time I hear the character, played by Won Bin, 50 years later. This has been the only cd I have listened to for the past several days.
