Following 2011's Finding Sayun, director Laha Mebow again explores the lives, dreams and struggles of Taiwanese aborigines in her sophomore effort Lokah Laqi (a.k.a. Hang In There, Kids!), which swept the Grand Prize, Best Narrative Feature, Best Director and Best New Talent at the 18th Taipei Film Festival. Esther Huang, the star of idol dramas like Dear Mom and Fabulous 30, plays a teacher who cares greatly for the kids at her aboriginal reservation in the mountains. Among her students are three boys who are playful and energetic as can be, but also each carry deep concerns about their troubled families. Besides the child actor cast, the moving drama co-stars Sharon Kao, Yukan Basan, singer Uni Yeh and Boxing's Mudi, and features special appearances by singers Crowd Lu, Tseng Shu Ching, Mini Tsai and Boxing.
