April 9, 2012 What a Thriller!
I had this movie for a while but kept it off because none of the actors/actresses is my favorite.
But, to my surprise, the movie was so good. I guarantee it would get you clue to the screen from the beginning to the end. It is definitely one of those thrillers that would knock your socks off!!!!

March 19, 2012 Good Movie
Personally, I didn't expect anything "great" from Fan Bing Bing before watching this movie but I was in a big surprise. She completely transformed herself with her looks and her actings. If I am not mistaken, she won the "best actress" award for her role in Buddha Mountain and indeed she's deserved it. Wilson Chen and Sylvia Chang did a good job as well but looks like Fan Bing BIng stole this show.
The movie must be heavily edited because I still could not understand how Sylvia Chang could "forgive" the young girl whom I assume is responsible for her son's accident/death. Near the end of the movie, we could see her joining Sylvia and "the trio" on a night out but there is no explanation at all how she could amend her "problems" with the mother (i.e. Sylvia Chang)!
The Last Night of Madame Chin (DVD) (End) (English Subtitled) (Hong Kong Version)February 12, 2012 So Boring
I could not finish this drama! Everything is going wrong ... Vic Chow's hairdo, Fan Bing Bing's make-up, Anthony Wong's stone face, .... There is no chemistry at all between Vic and Fan Bing Bing; as a result, I could not feel
sympathy at all for their love story. Even worst, their acting is so mediocre - both are like two pieces of wood. The
best one is probably Wang Xiaoqi but he only could not save this drama from sinking.
Do not waste your time on Madam Chin ...

February 1, 2012 Well Done! Hawick Lau
I normally fall sleep while watching dramas made in China and HK but this one is the exception!
Hawick Lau did a great job in his role as Mo Shao Qian. He's deserved a big thumb up!
I've noticed Hawick during his TVB days (must watch him as an ICAC Investigator who has arachnophobia)Wondered why TVB did not promote him and made him move to China? What a big mistake!
Glad to see him made great success in China.

November 19, 2011 Must See
This movie is so hilarious ... You would laugh and cry (near the end) at the same time. I'm so touched by
the strong bond between the team leader (Lee Sung Jae's character) and his team mates. The most
touching scene was the one where they saluted him before he left the compound. You could cry with them
and the director almost fooled you to believe that his escape was failed....
It is a must see for all Korean movie fans!

I'm still puzzled why Zhang Ziyi was named the main actress while she did not appear much in the movie? Nevertheless, the ones that made this movie interesting were Yu Shaoqun (young Mei Lanfang), Wang Xueqi (Mei's grandfather), Sun Honglei (Mei's sworn brother and manager), not Leon Lai nor Zhang Ziyi. During the first half of this movie, I was so captivated with all characters and their actings. Yu Shaoqun was so wonderful. Ditto, Sun Honglei and Wang Xueqi. They all made this movie so enjoyable. Unfortunately, the enjoyment didn't last long when Mei Lanfang became adult Leon Lai. From then on, the movie went down hill.
Leon and Zhang were so stiff and dull, especially Leon Lai. He was a poor choice for Mei Lanfang. Without them, I'd have given this movie a higher rating.

April 20, 2010 Best Supporting Actor
I beg to differ --- Why did Nicolas Tse receive the Best Supporting Actor for his role in this movie??? He
is not as convincing as Hu Jun. Hu Jun played the leader of Ching assassins so well ... Look at his
expressions, his movements, his lines, .... Hu Jun's acting skills is so much better.
Also, it'd have been much better if Winston Chao was given the role of Dr. Sun. I couldn't recognize Zhang
Hanyu in that stiffy acting - not like him at all.
The Marigolds (Taiwan Version)August 6, 2009 So-so Movie
My biggest surprise is how the actress who played Chin Han's daughter stole the show from Chin Han and Lin Ching Hsia --- I don't know her name but her natural acting, beauty, and smile have captivated the screen. I am more interested in her love story than that of the main couple.
A High School Teacher (Hong Kong Version)January 18, 2008 Excellent
This is a very good movie with an excellent cast. The story is sad but very entertaining. Karasawa Toshiaki was so charming as Kazuki, the lonely teacher. The lead actress was great as well. They both had a great chemistry which made the story even more convincing. Strongly recommended.
Brothers (2007) (DVD) (Hong Kong Version)January 10, 2008 A Must See
Not only we could see how the Tigers, at least 4 of them, have aged but also how their acting is still superb and convincing after so many years. There were many great actors in this movie but Michael Miu definitely stole the show!!

HJW had a very small part at the beginning. Little Yoon Hee ran into her while she was looking for her parent. Overall, this drama is definitely a great one even though there are many typos and grammatical errors. YA could provide a much better English translation.
Sorrow Of The GentryAugust 30, 2005 A Must See
This is another excellent movie produced by SB. Ching Li was so stunning, as usual. The story about a rich family with four sons who have their own problems with their life/wife/lover. You will not be disappointed...
Fallen PetalsAugust 30, 2005 Excellent!!!
I was extremely surprised by the quality of this movie. It is totally stunning. Both Chang Mei Yiu and Ke Jun Hsiung were at their best. Strongly recommended!!!
