Not a Great Buy Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
The gameplay is extremely repetitive, basically going: find the ghost, suck it up with my vacuum cleaner, and then look for the next ghost. Although there are different types of ghosts, they don't vary enough to make this much of an interesting game. The only variety really comes in with the bosses, where you may have to launch something at them or dodge some sort of special attack that they might have, but it still isn't worth it. The plot is also rather poor, progressing very little from start to finish. The reason I gave it 2 stars is this: the mansion. Everywhere you point your vacuum cleaner, something happens. And not only that, the effects are visually stunning. Tablecloths get pulled, vases get twirled, chandeliers try to pull off their chains, dust flies off of nearly everything, and cabinets fly open to reveal treasures. This is a game to demonstrate the potential of the GameCube system, not a game to demonstrate how wonderful all of the GameCube games are.
