Plastic surgeon Gong Ki Tae (Yun Woo Jin) is happiest when he's by himself, but the women of his family are eager to marry him off. Ki Tae comes up with a plan to get them off his back on the topic of marriage: bring home a girlfriend they would never approve of. His perfect candidate is Joo Jang Mi (Han Groo), an earnest young woman who lacks filter and just went through a very bad breakup with Ki Tae's friend Lee Hoon Dong (Heo Jung Min). To get revenge on Hoon Dong, Jang Mi agrees to pose as Ki Tae's girlfriend, but the hilarious charade develops into something more.

“Marriage, Not Dating” is a new TV series where our protagonist Gong Ki Tae introduces Joo Jang Mi as his girlfriend to his family, in order to make his family give up on pressuring him into marriage.
Gong Ki Tae is an extremely successful bachelor who has no plans to get married. However, his traditional family constantly gives Gong Ki Tae the pressure to settle down with a wife. In order to get them off of his back, Gong Ki Tae devises a plan to introduce Joo Jang Mi as his girlfriend who he thinks would never get his family’s approval. This romantic comedy portrays a man who doesn’t want to get married, and a woman who has no luck with potential marriage prospects.
