The Advocate: A Missing Body director Heo Jong Ho brings monsters into Joseon history in the period action film Monstrum! Kim Myung Min fights a mythical creature along with Choi Woo Shik (Train To Busan), Kim In Kwon (Masquerade) and Hye Ri (Reply 1988) from Girl's Day in her film debut. The strong cast of Monstrum also includes Lee Kyung Young (Steel Rain), Park Hee Soon (1987: When the Day Comes) and Park Sung Woong (The Great Battle).

In the 22nd year of King Jungjong's (Park Hee Soon) reign, rumors spread of a mysterious and horrifying creature named "Monstrum" that eats human flesh. To calm the people, King Jungjong orders retired general Yoon Gyeom (Kim Myung Min) to find and slay the creature. Though he refuses at first, Yoon Gyeon finally heads to the monster's lair with his daughter Myung (Hye Ri) and imperial guard Heo (Choi Woo Shik) to search for Monstrum. While Yoon Gyeom is gone, the King's adversaries plot to end his reign.

A Mysterious Creature Terrorizes Mount Inwangsan.
It’s the 22nd year of Jung Jong, and the plague has taken over Joseon. People are starving. Fear is rampant. Fear becomes panic when rumors begin to swirl that a grotesque beast-called “Monstrum”by terrified masses-has been preying on humans in Mount Inwangsan.
