YesAsia Editorial Description

As Korea's first 3D theatrical movie, erotic melodrama Natalie gets twice the buzz for its technical breakthrough and its racy content. Up-and-coming actress Park Hyun Jin (Miss Gold Digger) makes quite the splash as the sultry dancer who enchants Lee Sung Jae (Dreams Come True) and television star Kim Ji Hoon (Stars Falling From the Sky). Directed by Joo Kyeong Joong (A Little Monk), Natalie especially attracted attention for its 3D bed scenes and mysterious tangle of sex, lies, and secrets.

Sculptor Jun Hyuk (Lee Sung Jae) has created his greatest masterpiece, "Natalie", a sculpture capturing the beauty of woman. At his exhibition, he talks to art critic Min Woo (Kim Ji Hoon) about the inspiration for his sculpture - dance student Mi Ran (Park Hyun Jin) and the passionate love they shared. But Min Woo has a different story to tell about Mi Ran, their intersecting memories revealing an illicit love triangle.

This edition comes with the 2D version of the film.

Setting a new standard of pretentiousness Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
"Natalie" tries to be highbrow softcore, but ends up as tedious, turgid nonsense. Sculptor and art prof Jun Hyuk (Lee Sung Jae) has just held a successful exhibition of his works, the great masterpiece of which is a sculpture entitled "Natalie". (This cheesy sculpture actually looks more like a cheap lawn ornament than an artistic masterpiece.) Art critic Min Woo (Kim Ji Hoon) turns up to interview Jun Hyuk ... and to try to buy "Natalie", but Min Woo isn't selling. It soon becomes clear that the model who posed for "Natalie", a dance student named Mi Ran (Park Hyun Jin), holds a special place in both men's hearts.

As the story unspools in "Rashomon"-style flashbacks, the viewer is invited to decide whether Jun Hyuk's memory of Mi Ran (as an impulsive, lusty sexual animal) or Min Woo's image of Mi Ran (as a sweet, pure-hearted, doomed young woman) is more accurate. Trust me, you won't really care. By telling the story in flashback solely from the men's perspectives, the viewer never really gets a feel for what makes Mi Ran tick.

Indeed, after its first half hour (which is comprised mostly of unclad people grunting and groaning), the film turns into a talky bore, with Jun Hyuk endlessly relating his empty, boastful theories about art, life, and love. It all comes off as every bit as phony as Park Hyun Jin's silicon-enhanced bustline. Avoid this one like the plague.
