Off Jumpol and Gun Attaphan from Theory of Love pair up again in GMMTV's action BL drama Not Me. Gun takes on dual roles as twins Black and White who get separated at a young age due to their parents' divorce. Returning to Thailand many years later, White suddenly finds out that Black is in a coma after being attacked. To find the assailant, White assumes the identity of Black, who is part of a malcontent gang that fights the system in extreme ways. White suspects that his brother was betrayed by one of his close friends – Sean (Off Jumpol), Gram (Mond Tanutchai), or Yok (First Kanaphan). However, Sean notices that White is different from the cold and distrusting Black that he knows, and their relationship begins to change.

This boxset includes Not Me series on English-subtitled DVD with music videos and behind-the-scenes, a 100-paged photobook, two photo cards, eight postcards, two exclusive photo cards and a tattoo sheet.

Boys against the world
When it comes to Thai BL series, GMMTV pretty much popularized the blueprint for sweet and safe youth romance dramas starring young TV idols. While the cute school romcom genre is sure to stick around, the studio has also ventured into darker themes and more mature topics. These efforts yield some of the most narratively and visually interesting titles of the GMMTV roster, like Not Me.

Based on a novel by Saisioo, Not Me leads with the reliable pairing of Off Jumpol and Gun Atthaphan. Gun flexes his acting talents in dual roles as twins White and Black. Returning to Thailand after years abroad, White assumes the identity of his estranged brother who has fallen into a coma after getting assaulted. In order to find out who hurt his brother, White, who comes from a privileged background as the son of a diplomat, infiltrates Black's gang of friends that includes Off as Sean. Unexpectedly, White finds himself in an underground activist group plotting attacks against a large corporation. As he treads deeper into this different world, he realizes there is much he doesn't know about Black, and the ways of Thai society. Complicating things further is his increasingly close relationship with Sean.

Not Me is notably directed by Anucha Boonyawatana, who explored queer relationships in the acclaimed films The Blue Hour and Malila: The Farewell Flower, the former of which starred Gun. Built on youth frustration and activism, the angsty series voices out against social inequality, corporate greed, corruption and privilege, and circles around the question of how to bring about change. The angry and confused young people of Not Me engage in discussions on law and justice, and some are prepared to fight the system with more extreme methods. Black's cold rage and White's thoughtful awakening represent two sides of the same coin for those grappling with the reality of being powerless in the face of injustice.

Aired from December 2021 to March 2022, on the heels of Thailand's youth-led protests of 2020 and 2021, Not Me is a timely and surprisingly gutsy drama from GMMTV that situates very relevant youth and social issues into a dense story of suspense, danger and, yes, boys' love.
