With his newfound shape-shifting and gloop-spreading powers, Yung dispenses righteous justice as only he can - Oily Maniac-style! Hilariously cheesy special effects help raise Oily Maniac beyond schlock level into an entertainingly trashy camp classic. Best oil slick monster EVER Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Look at the monster on the cover of the DVD. Does that monster look cool to you? If it does, then you'll get the wackiest, Saturday morning cartoonish revenge monster movie going. I loved the absurd rubber suit, his glowing eyes, his dissolving into oil and seeping around. Cartoonish characters and a nutty monster combine for one of my favorite Shaw titles yet.

Ok so-so lah Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
Can't really expect too much of special effects from a HK production in the 70s era. Storyline is quite poor though. But I did enjoyed some of the "oily maniac" scenes. Lily Li really looked fresh as compared to now. Oh by the way I watched got the Malaysian DVD version so I got to see all the "nude" scenes but frankly speaking not that many.

I bought this movie primarily to watch a young Danny Lee. He does not disappoint. Lily Li and Chen Ping are good in their roles too but Chen Ping's sex scenes are censored. I wonder why Celestial released a censored version again.
The special effects are not good.

Not really a horror movie ! The "Oily Manic" creature is too artifical. Also, there are a few cuts in this show , but will not distort the whole plot. Overall, it is still worthy watching especially for Danny Lee.
