Polygram 20th Century Collection - True Feeling1 people found this review helpful
June 20, 2002 Jacky Cheung- True Emotions (1992, Polydor)Very, very popular album & filled with so many songs that became hits. I love this whole album. Jacky even does re-makes of the Boyz-II-Men song "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday". PolyGram has even made a 24K Gold CD Edition for this album, it was that popular. Get it! June 20, 2002 Jacky Cheung- Love Sparks (1992, Polydor)
Another excellent album from Jacky. The only song I don't like is #3. The rest of the songs are so worthwhile! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
June 20, 2002 Jacky Cheung- Me & You (1993, Polydor)
Nothing but great songs. Every song here is very good to listen to. I hope this will be re-released! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
June 20, 2002 Jacky Cheung- Dream in Grief (1988, Polydor)
1 (Dream in Grief), 4 (Sky Changes, Earth Changes, Love Doesn't Change), 5 (Dream's Sound) & 9 (Battlefield) are the best songs in this above average album. It's a very decent album, although. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
June 14, 2002 Must Buy!
I am so happy these CDs are re-released. I hope Universal makes one of these From Beginning box sets for Jacky Cheung (1985-1993), Leslie Cheung (1987-1989) and Priscilla Chan (1984-1995) albums. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
June 3, 2002 Jacky Cheung- Amour (1985, Polydor)
This is Jacky's 2nd album. I really don't like this album. There are only several great songs on here including 1, 2 & 3, which were very popular. The greatest song on here was 'Moonlight Romance' (Song #2). I love that song to death & play it every chance I get! I love the artwork where the background is red & the picture of Jacky standing in front of a beach during sunset. This album has MOONLIGHT ROMANCE written all over it! Aside from that 1 beauty of a song, this is one album that I can do without. I wish PolyGram/Universal could make one of those 'FROM BEGINNING' Box Sets for all of Jacky's albums from 1985-1993. April 11, 2002 Anita Mui- In Brazil (1989, Capitol)
Hey! This album is pretty good. My favorites are Songs 2 (re-make of a popular American song), 3 (Flaming Red Journey) & 6-11. Very, very good album by Anita. Much better than albums like 'Red Hot Lips' & 'Inebriated Dream'. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
April 5, 2002 Leslie Cheung- Salute (1989, Cinepoly/A&M)
Leslie does re-makes of all of his favorite old songs like 'Sweat Drop' (Sandy Lam), 'Flowing Like Water' (Anita Mui), 'Paper Boat' (Sam Hui) & 'Wish You Live Long' (Teresa Teng). This album is pretty good. Not the best, though. It's a personal album by him, so I won't put it down at all. I just don't like the re-make of 'Sweat Drop'. It was boring to me. I love the song 'This is Love'. All in all, this album is good. Much better than that 'Side Face' album! Leslie Cheung salutes to all of his favorite artists by re-making their songs in his fashion. April 4, 2002 Anita Mui- Evil Lady (1986, Capitol)
Good album. Not great, nor excellent, though. But I respect this album so much. Evil Lady & One-Time Devoted Love is great! Songs 6-10 are NONSTOP excellent songs in a row! Decent album. Much, much better than 'Inebriated Dream' & 'Red Hot Lips'. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
April 3, 2002 Anita Mui- Red Hot Lips (1987, Capitol)
Another above average album by Anita. I liked half of this album. Some songs were just boring. The first song, I do not like it at all (Red Hot Lips). My favorite songs on here are 'The First Half of Her Life', 'Lonely', 'Return the Real Me', 'Rouge Locket' & the song where she sings with Andy Hui. The rest of the album is not too good. Anita's best albums are 'Bad Girl', 'Leap the Stage', 'Changing Melody' & 'Red Anita (Red)'. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Polygram 24k Gold Disc Series - Alan Tam Gold CollectionApril 2, 2002 Alan Tam- 24K Gold Box Set (Mercury)
It's not worth it. So, so, so many songs are missing in this box set. About over 15 great songs by him are missing. Just buy all of his old albums or buy Alan's Song 1, 2 & another anthology with all of his fast songs. Too many songs missing in this box set. Jacky Cheung, Teresa Tang & Sam Hui has the same box sets & theirs are worth it. This is not! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
March 30, 2002 Anita Mui- Inebriated Dream (1988, Capitol)
A good, above average album by Anita. My favorite songs here are...1 (Inebriated Dream), 2 (Stand By Me), 4 (Noone Will Love Me), 9 (English title not available) & 10 (Rose, Rose, I Love You: theme song for 'Miracles'). Anita has made better albums, though. Some of the songs here are just boring. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

With (Deluxe Version)March 22, 2002 HEY!
No Shirley Kwan? Priscilla Chan? In a way, I can understand why there's no duets with Leon Lai or Aaron Kwok (different styles). Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

March 14, 2002 Anita Mui: Leap the Stage (1984, Capitol)
I really love this album. I love the song 'Dont Believe Love Has a Price' so much! I LOVE that song to death! Too bad this album is out of stock now! One of Anita's best albums. Look at that artwork! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Polygram 20th Century Collection - Root Of LoveMarch 14, 2002 Alan Tam: The Root of Love (1984, Mercury)
I love this album so much! The only song I can't stand is song #4 (Love in Autumn). The artwork is great, too, with Alan standing on a mountain. My favorite songs are 'The Root of Love', 'Summer Tornado', 'Song of the City', Song #5 (I can't translate it), 'A Heart of Red Wine' & Song #10. This is an old classic. A must have. I have the jewel-box CD version. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
March 14, 2002 Leslie Cheung: Stand Up (1986, Capitol)
For a while, I was being judgemental about this album. I've heard few people say that this album wasn't as good as his other ones from the early 80's. But I decided to check it out for myself. So, I bought it & I really like it a lot! My favorite songs on here are... 'Stand Up', 'Midnight Melody' (I hate the remix version), 'Letting Go', 'Love Me More', 'Love For Who', 'Love Weapon', 'Opening the Mailbox' & 'Lovely Girl'. The other songs, I really don't care for, especially 'Palpable' (song #8). There are 2 versions for the song 'Letting Go', for some that do not know. There is a 'fixed audio' version for this song on an Anthology. I like this version better. It sounds different & so much better! This album is very good! I love the artwork on the back of the CD & how Leslie is posed! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

GREAT ALBUM! This album, along with READY, are the best albums of her career! I LOVE SANDY LAM! I love her picture on the album cover, too! Buy it while you still can! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
