For One Second Champion's theme song, ToNick joins forces with the film's leading man, Endy Chow. Composed by Endy and Hangjai, "Origin of Time" won Best Original Film Song at the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards. Characteristic of Endy and ToNick's music styles, the rousing pop rock number's sound and message fit in with the film's underdog story about a struggling, washed-up father who utilizes his ability to see one second into the future to become a boxer for the sake of his son.

Written by Cheng Man, the song's lyrics highlight the struggles of living and having your rough edges grinded down by time. "Origin of Time" refers to one's original dreams and intentions that must be guarded and fought for even as the years go by, so that there are no regrets when you look back later, no matter the results.

Mellow yet spirited, "The Origin of Time" doesn't have a particularly catchy or distinctive melody, but the entire song is constructed and arranged very effectively. Endy and Hangjai's voices have similar yet different vibes that blend together well, especially in the chorus of overlapping vocals.
