Titled The Prince of Tennis: The National Tournament, or Zenkoku Taikai Hen, the series details the exploits of Ryoma Echizen and the rest of the Seigaku team as they make their way towards the nationals, facing new and old foes alike. The Prince of Tennis OVA series marks a return to manga-based storylines after the original TV anime series diverged from its manga counterpart with a plot involving Ryoma traveling to the United States to compete in the U.S. Open.

Vol. 2 contains episodes 2 and 3 of the 13-episode series. Japanese language only.

[ストーリー]
青学（せいがく）の全国大会初戦の相手は、沖縄・比嘉中。帰国後初試合となるリョーマは、シングルス３として第１試合に登場する。対するは、巨漢の田仁志。「ＣＯＯＬドライブ」を打つと宣言し、さらに緩急をつけた試合運びで先制するリョーマだが、田仁志は「ビックバン」という必勝サーブを持っていた。両者ともサービスゲームをキープしたまま、試合はタイブレークへ。その勝負の行方は・・・？
