2009 Chinese comedy Panda Express continues what director Wang Yuelun set out to do in his popular black comedy Almost Perfect - to make the audiences laugh with non-stop slapstick spoofing fun! Here Wang reunites with his favorite cast, including Liu Hua, Deng Jiajia, and Shi Ning, with the addition of heartthrob idol Ren Quan, sexy singer A Duo, show host He Jiong, plus Taiwan beauty Pace Wu and Japanese actor Yano Koji. Abound with romance and martial arts, the period laughfest was warmly received by young audiences and got a strong showing at the box office when it opened in China in November 2009.

During the Southern Song Dynasty of ancient China, the great general Zhao Gan (Ren Quan) decides to perform an exotic dance with a giant panda so as to entertain his Mongolian guests at the upcoming diplomatic variety show. Mistaken for a first-rate bodyguard, small-time dart hawker Wang Laoji (Liu Hua) is assigned the duty of escorting the dancing panda. On their way to the capital, Wang and his panda meet a bandit queen (A Duo), a lady constable (Deng Jiajia), and a bumbling assassin (Li Changyuan), and much hilarity ensues...
