Best known for his role in the TV drama Winter Sonata, popular Korean actor and singer Park Yong Ha passed away on June 30, 2010 at the age of 32.
Born on August 12, 1977, Park Yong Ha made his acting debut at 17 in the MBC drama Theme Theater. The actor caught eyes early on for his handsome looks and talent, and went on to appear in many dramas including the 1998 MBC classic Bogo Tto Bogo and the 2000 KBS romance Snowflakes. In 2002, Park co-starred in the seminal Korean drama Winter Sonata. The series' great success launched Park to Korean Wave stardom throughout Asia, in particular Japan where his second calling as a singer also took off. From 2004 onwards, he regularly released singles and albums and held concert tours in Japan. After Winter Sonata, Park starred in several hit productions including the TV dramas Loving You (2002) and On Air (2008) and the movie The Scam (2009). The actor was last seen on screen in the 2009 television thriller The Slingshot.
