Based on the second novel of writer Azuma Naomi's popular Sapporo-set Susukino Detective series, Phone Call To The Bar stars Hokkaido native Oizumi Yo (The Kiyosu Conference) as the unnamed private detective who bases his operations in a bar in Susukino, the red-light district of Sapporo, and Ryuhei Matsuda (The Great Passage) as Takada, his driver who can handle himself in a fight.

One day, the detective receives a phone call from a woman who identifies herself as Kondo Kyoko. She offers the detective a job that seems exceedingly simple, so he agrees to it. As it turns out, the job isn't so easy after all, because the detective soon finds himself tied up and buried in snow; thankfully, he is rescued by Takada. The ensuing investigation embroils the two in a twisty mystery involving multiple murders, a beautiful woman named Saori (Koyuki, Kamui) and wealthy businessman Kirishima Toshio (Toshiyuki Nishida, Reunion).
