Along with Kim Young Kwang (Good Doctor) and Lee Yoo Bi (Gu Family Book), the young hot-blooded reporters gradually learn the great importance and responsibility of news reporting, and fight to uncover the truth and undo the wrongs of the past.

Years ago, a fire claimed the lives of a team of firefighters, and media speculation placed the blame on chief firefighter Ki Ho Sang, who was deemed missing because his body couldn't be found. Thanks to the media's irresponsible sensationalist reporting, Ki's wife and her two sons Jae Myung and Ha Myung bore the brunt of the public's anger. Driven to the edge, she leapt off a cliff with Ha Myung. Unbeknownst to the world, however, Ha Myung was rescued and adopted into the Choi family.

Keeping his real identity a secret, Ki Ha Myung (Lee Jong Suk) grows up as Choi Dal Po with his adopted father (Byun Hee Bong), brother (Shin Jung Geun) and spunky "niece" In Ha (Park Shin Hye) who suffers from Pinocchio syndrome, a condition that prevents her from lying. In Ha's dream is to become a reporter like her famous mother Song Cha Ok (Jin Kyung), but she doesn't know that her mother is a calculating opportunist who had a hand in destroying the Ki family. Though Dal Po originally hates reporters, he decides to become one as well in order to prove Song Cha Ok wrong, but the first difficult story he must confront is his own long-lost brother Jae Myung (Yoon Kyun Sang) who is out for revenge.

A drama depicts love, frustration, growth and the competitive process of young people in their 20s becoming reporters as they cry and get hurt by truth but realize that as reporters, they must tell the truth. It will center the story of a man who hides a special talent living under a fake name and a woman who cannot lie due to “Pinocchio Syndrome”.

The story starts with a fire incident and all the firemen who entered the building in the blaze were killed by the fire. The fire incident news report was focused on the story of Kim Ha Myung’s father, chief of the fire brigade sent his men in the blaze and caused them all to die and then he fled the scene as a n error of hismisjudgement as reported by the news reporter, Song Cha Ok. This caused a chaotic situation for Ha Myung’s family and end up causing his mother to commit suicide with him and his brother ends up in jail over night due to Song Cha Ok’s untruth story. However, the led to Ha Myung growing up with hatred for reporters especially Cha Ok. Fatefully, as he is growing up he meets with Cha Ok’s ex-husband and daughter, Cuoi in Ha and takes on a new identity as Choi Dal Po. In Ha is someone with Pinocchio Syndrome hence she cannot lie.
