YesAsia Editorial Description
Arrogant poker guru Uno Cheuk (Lau Ching Wan) sits at the top of Macau's leading casino, but the gambling empire's true heir is actually Jack Chang (Louis Koo), the immature son of the late casino owner. Uno calls Jack back from Canada, only to humiliate him and drive him out of the casino for good. Jack, who's a whiz in online poker but a dud at the table, just can't seem to win - until he meets his lucky charm Smiley (Stephy Tang). To win back his casino and his pride, Jack determinedly learns the ins and outs of Texas Hold'em, and challenges Uno to a final showdown at the winner-takes-all Asia poker championship.
This edition comes with a lenticular cover, a deck of playing cards, and a notebook.

People say one's fate has been pre-determined from the start like the cards in a Texas Hold’em game. Uno(Lau Ching Wan), a small time crook turned Casino magnate, and Jack, the scion of a powerful gaming clan lead very different lives until fate brought them together in a poker duel of a lifetime...
The setting is Macau, Las Vegas of the Orient, where the buzz in town is that Uno has snared the operations of the venerable Sun Casinos from its deceased owner. In a bid to clear his name, he has the sole heir Jack (Louis Koo) brought back from Canada where he spent the last few years in hiding.
Jack, an inept businessman and a socially awkward young man, spent his days playing online poker. When it became clear that he has neither the instinct nor the skills to take over, Uno invokes the owner’s will and takes charge of Jack's family business.
Disillusioned and depressed, Jack runs into Smiley (Stephy Tang), a simple girl with a seemingly unstoppable good fortune. Together the pair conquers the poker rooms in Macau until Jack is summoned by Uno's arch rival Ms. Fong (Josie Ho) to represent her corporation in the ultimate Poker King tournament.
As Jack issues a personal challenge to Uno, it becomes clear that it isn't only bragging rights at stake, but also the throne to the gambling empire that Jack's father had built. In the end, there can only be one Poker King.

Muck this movie
"Poker King" boasts a top-notch cast, a glamorous setting, cameos by famous poker pros, and glossy state-of-the-art production values. Unfortunately, the movie is all dressed up with no place to go; its story is empty and chaotic gibberish. Louis Koo plays Jack Chang, a cripplingly introverted math whiz who spends his days holed up alone in his Canadian apartment playing (and winning) online poker. While Jack Chang was in line to inherit his father's Macau casino empire, instead the empire is handed to the much savvier Uno Cheuk (Lau Ching Wan), who is locked in an intense rivalry with even bigger casino tycoon, Ms. Fong (Josie Ho, who essentially is playing her real-life sister Pansy Ho). Uno brings Jack back to Hong Kong and seeks to groom him to be a successful player in live poker tournaments. Jack encounters Smiley (Stephy Tang) and falls in love.
What follows makes little logical sense and offers the viewer little reason to care. Some of the actors didn't seem to care either; Josie Ho, in particular, simply sleepwalks through her role. And the filmmakers didn't care enough to fix such obvious errors as one sequence in which Jack storms away from a poker table wearing a white sweater and immediately storms into a meeting room wearing a black sweater. I'm sorry I gambled my hard-earned money on this sloppy dud.
