Based on the manga Yokokuhan by Tsuitsui Tetsuya, the suspense thriller Prophecy stars Ikuta Toma (Brain Man) as a vigilante criminal who targets and punishes reprehensible individuals with rough retributions that fit their transgressions. His attacks are "prophesized" beforehand in videos uploaded to a video sharing website. Toda Erika (SPEC series) plays the head of the cybercrime unit tasked with hunting down this notorious "Newspaper Man" – so dubbed for the newspaper mask he wears – but she keeps arriving at the crime scene a step too late. As the scale of the crimes escalates, the police also begin to close in on Newspaper Man. Suzuki Ryohei (Tokyo Tribe), Hamada Gaku (The Great Shu Ra Ra Boom) and Arakawa Yoshiyoshi (Fuku-chan of FukuFuku Flats) co-star as the other members of Newspaper Man in this gritty thriller from mystery master Nakamura Yoshihiro (The Snow White Murder Case).

[ストーリー]
事件は唐突に始まった。Ｔシャツ姿に新聞紙の頭巾を被り、ネット上に現れた“シンブンシ”と名乗る「彼」は、法では裁かれず、見過ごされがちな罪を犯した者たちを暴露。そして「彼」なりの制裁を加えていく。集団食中毒を起こした食品加工会社に対し、「食い物の扱いも知らないこいつらに、俺がきっちり火を通してやる」と予告。すると食品加工会社で火災が発生した。ネット犯罪を取り締まる、警視庁サイバー犯罪対策課の捜査官・吉野絵里香は、この謎の予告犯＝“シンブンシ”の捜査に乗り出す。捜査を続ける吉野はシンブンシが単独犯ではなく、複数犯であることに気付く。それでも「彼ら」は吉野をあざ笑うかのように、予告と制裁を繰り返していく。そして予告配信現場に残される“ネルソン・カトー・リカルテ”という謎の文字。巷には「彼ら」を神と崇める模倣犯も出現し、マスコミの報道は過熱。遂には政治家殺害予告にまで至り、社会現象へと発展していく。果たして「彼ら」をこの凶行に駆り立てた真の目的とは？吉野は「彼ら」の知られざる過去に事件解決の糸口を見出すのだが…。ネット社会を震撼させる衝撃の結末とは一体？
