Set after the events of the previous films, Rebellion sees Madoka and the other magical girls trapped in an alternate world battling creatures named Nightmares. To escape the alternate world, the girls must band together and help Madoka retrieve her lost memories. Debuting at the top of the box office, Rebellion set the record for being the highest-grossing film based on a late night anime in Japan.
