To pay tribute to 60s Hong Kong action films, director Xiong Xinxin gathers more than 20 Hong Kong actors including Eric Tsang, Felix Wong, Gigi Leung, Kara Hui, Ray Liu, Ti Lung and Simon Yam for the intense period drama Seven Assassins. The story revolves around a group of forgotten heroes in the Qing Dynasty. Famed action star Ti Lung reenacts the famous kung fu sequences seen in a number of his Shaw Brothers movies while Gigi Leung plays opposite Eric Tsang, who plays the admirer who saves her life.

혼돈과 광풍 속, 중국의 미래를 짊어진 철운은 황금을 싣고 무기를 구매하러 가던 중 친왕이 보낸 마적단에게 습격 당해 금을 빼앗기고 잡혀가지만 호송 도중 조정 관리인 탁 지부에 의해 목숨을 건지고 황금협이란 마을로 가게 된다. 그러나 탁 지부는 철운을 살려줬다는 이유로 일가와 함께 마적단에게 죽임을 당한다. 황금협을 이끄는 묘 사장은 황금협 사람들 모두 마음의 빚을 지고 있는 탁 지부가 보냈다는 이유로 철운을 받아주지만 그를 도와 황금을 되찾으러 가지는 않겠다고 한다. 그러나 철운을 잡으러 온 마적단과 친왕의 부대 때문에 마을 주민들이 목숨을 잃자 묘 사장을 비롯한 은거하는 고수들은 주민들의 복수를 위해 철운과 함께 친왕을 죽이러 떠난다. 묘 사장이 모은 강호인들은 합심해 친왕의 병영을 공격하고 황금이 숨겨진 교회에서 친왕과 마적과 황금을 놓고 최후의 일전을 펼치는데...
