The Empires adaptation of Shin Sangoku Musou 8 (a.k.a. Dynasty Warriors 9) arrives with more exciting action and simulation elements from the empire-building strategy series. In a departure from previous Empires entries, gameplay for this installment has evolved into siege battle, with the area around the castle becoming a battlefield to compete for control of the castle. Utilize your army and different combat strategies to storm the castle according to the ever-changing battle situation. Political strategy also comes into play as alliances, relationships and interactions with military commanders determine the strength of a state, and affect the rise and fall of an empire. Players can also experience different ways of life, such as that of a monarch, shogun and foot soldier. This Empires entry features 94 playable characters from Dynasty Warriors 9.

This edition comes with an art book, a set of 94 character cards with stand, and two original soundtrack CDs.
