YesAsia Editorial Description
Does chastity mean anything to young women nowadays? If you ask Min So, the answer is a definite YES! And she'll back it up with her silver knife.
Directed by Kim Sung Deok, hilarious Korean comedy The Silver Knife stars Shin Ae from Season in the Sun and Summer Scent as a conservative woman whose boyfriend is dying to sleep with her. Brought up in a strict household, Min So had to leave her family to attend college, but she has all her parents' teachings strong in her mind. To guard herself from any indecent advances, Min So keeps a silver knife on hand at all times - but her hormonal boyfriend Joo Haek doesn't know this!

Min So lives in the country with her parents and brother. Her father is a "village elder" and is conservative as they come. He is so tradition and strict that he gives her a little silver knife to "protect her innocence" like the old days. But times are changing and Min So want to go to college and get an education. But Seoul "corrupts the mind" as her father would say. Min So, with the help of her mother and brother, leaves the countryside to study.
A year after her departure, Min So begins to get comfortable. She has two close girlfriends and even meets a great guy, Joo Haek, who she dates. After a while, his thirst for sex begins to unravel and laughter ensues...

Entertaining yet i felt that there was nothing in this movie to look forward to, except for OJH. She looks like Ruffa Mae Quinto. |

Ahahahahah
Ahahahahah
This movie is so funny... it's kinda like "Sex is Zero" because it's all about our sexual carnal cravings, but it also has a good meaning behind it. All I can say is that it's so hilarious. The acting is good and the VCD format isn't that bad. As long as I understood what they were saying and what was going on is all that matters. Ahahahaha... it's really funny. |

Smells...bad!
Smells...bad!
Yikes...this was one very boring movie.
To grade this five out of five stars is hillarious. So many good Korean movies out these days...don't see why anyone really would wanna see this one. Take my word for it...this is NOT 5/5 stars worth of film. You the reviewer who arguments with the "he is American" line, should worry less about ethnicity...and more about the actual quality of the movie. The movie really doesn't make any sense whatsoever...the shallowness of the characters and the over-pacing of the plot is unbeleivable. If there even is a plot. The plot is: Guy want's to get laid with girl...girl doesn't want to...but all of a sudden she want's too :S doesn't make any sense at all. Acting is way under par too... If you wanna get a korean highschool movie...see Sex is Zero. I gave it some props for having lots of fine women in it...other that that..it has NOTHING. If you have looots of money and looots of time...MAYBE. |
