Almost a decade after The Tower, director Kim Ji Hoon presents another disaster film – but with a comedic twist. Sinkhole, one of Korea's top-grossing films of 2021, stars Cha Seung Won (Night in Paradise), Kim Sung Kyun (Fengshui) and Lee Kwang Soo (Inseparable Bros), along with rising actors Kim Hye Jun (Another Child) and Nam Da Reum (The 8th Night). The film depicts the trials of a group of survivors inside a building that falls into a sinkhole.

Dong Won (Kim Sung Kyun) and his family finally purchase their first apartment in Seoul after 11 years. On their first day of moving in, he bumps into meddling neighbor Man Soo (Cha Seung Won), who raises his son (Nam Da Reum) alone. Dong Won invites his colleagues Seung Hyun (Lee Kwang Soo) and Eun Joo (Kim Hye Jun) for a housewarming at his new home, only for the entire building to be swallowed by a sinkhole after heavy rainfall. Will they be able to escape the sinkhole?
