데뷔한지 3년여 만에 우리나라를 대표하는 어쿠스틱 뮤지션으로 자리 잡은 스탠딩에그가 한결 깊어진 감수성과 그들의 장점인 대중적인 감각을 절묘하게 믹스한 정규 3집 앨범 ‘SHINE'으로 돌아왔다.

이번 앨범 ‘shine'은 그동안 그들이 줄곧 선보였던 기존의 어쿠스틱 위주 사운드와는 다르게 브릿팝 사운드를 전면적으로 내세웠다. 하지만 그 변화는 어색하지 않고 오히려 음악적으로 한 걸음 더 나아간 것처럼 느껴진다.

스탠딩에그의 맑고 투명한 멜로디는 여전하고, 특유의 ’아련한 감성‘도 명불허전이기에 오히려 스탠딩에그가 늘 전해주던 감성들을 그저 조금 새로운 그릇에 담아낸 느낌이다. 안전하면서도 세련된 ‘진화’란 이런 것이 아닐까.
