Yong Bu Hui Tou (H-DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 Great show
I went into this thinking I was not going to be able to finish it. I was amazed at how good it turned out to be. The story gets you really involved with the main characters, their lives after being released from prison, and their relationships.
Xuan Ya (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 Very Good
Another one of those spy shows. It seemed to be a little long and repetitive now and then but overall it was very entertaining/suspenseful and held my interest. Worth watching!
Living (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 See this
This show tells the story of the life of a good-hearted man and his friends. While the story is simple, it is told very well. The story really succeeds in making the viewer grow to like the main character and to really care what happens to him. Very heartwarming.
Wu Li Kan Hua (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 Great show
Great series with strong plot and likeable characters. While the main female character was a little annoying initially, even she became likable as her character developed throughout the story. This show also provided a view into the antique business. I would recommend this show.
The Moon That Embraces the Sun (DVD) (End) (Multi-audio) (English Subtitled) (MBC TV Drama) (Singapore Version)May 26, 2013 Ok, but...
I heard that this drama was all the rage so I had high expectations. I didn't really like it as much as I had hoped to. The story was a little hard to believe. Couldn't get into the analogy between the sun/moon and the king/queen and all of that. Also, the image in the final episodes (each episode on the last disc) were distorted - so there were technical problems as well.
Han Ye (aka: Cold Night) (2006) (DVD) (Ep. 1-35) (End) (Taiwan Version)May 26, 2013 Terrific
What a pleasure to have seen this show. I didn't know what I was getting into at first but I was surprised to find out it was as good as it is. The story was well crafted and the characters (most of them, anyway) were sympathetic.
Five Star Hotel (DVD-9) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 No good
The story was boring and seemed to meander to a very unsatisfying end. I also could not get into the characters at all and found most of the characters to be either annoying or unlikable for other reasons. I would not recommend watching this series.
The Last Gun (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 Unexpectedly good
Didn't think I would like this show at first but it really grew on me. The story provided very intriguing conflicts, each with a well thought out (and believable) resolution. I also liked how the main characters developed throughout the story.
Imminent Crisis (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 Loved it
Great plot and sub-plots. Acting was great as well although I did not think there was sufficient differentiation between the two identical twins. A few of the plot twists were a little hard to believe but not really a problem. Great show. You should watch this one!
Qian Duo Duo Jia Ren Ji (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 Disappointed
I could only stomach the first few episodes of this series. I felt the show was silly and pointless. Also, the background music played constantly in the background and was very loud. This annoying non-stop music drowned out the dialog. Although it might have improved later, I could not force myself to stick with it based on what I saw in the first several episodes. I would not recommend spending too much time on this.
Xie Luo Chang An (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 Great show
This show was well worth watching. The story was well written and while there were a few plot turns that I felt were somewhat implausible, the series as a whole was excellent. Very sentimental and moving at times. I would highly recommend this series.
Laoyan's Daughter Not Anxious Is Married (DVD) (End) (China Version)May 26, 2013 So-so
This series was fun to watch initially but somewhere after the halfway point the stories started to get more and more far-fetched. Some of the subplots seemed to pop up out of nowhere, then get resolved too quickly. The final scene with the villain was overly cartoonish, both in the writing and acting. Overall, while this series was adequate, I would not recommend it enthusiastically.
