Part of PTS's Innovative Story student film series, the 2017 television film The Cage is directed by Leong Siew Hong, who is the screenwriter of Shuttle Life and The Paradise. Wen remembers the summer when he was still a clueless seven-year-old boy fantasizing over his math teacher. His pregnant teenage sister ran away from home. He met the mother who abandoned him, and held the hands of his weak and helpless father. That summer, Wen experienced many things that he understood and yet didn't understand. However, after that summer, some things would not be the same again.
