勇闖國際間的農業新技術強化稻作栽培體系SRI首次中文完整介紹。
世界上有越來越多的人(至少一千萬)知道什麼是稻作強化栽培體系SRI。相對於綠色革命的高投入高產出，SRI透過水、土壤及作物的合理利用，以友善環境的耕作方式與大自然和諧共生。
台灣在2008年就有農民採用SRI的紀錄；2010年農委會開始於北、中、南三地，有系統地進行了3年的驗證試驗，提出三多四少的調適型SRI；2013年民間響應致力於SRI的標準化作業，成果發表於2015年PAWEE國際期刊；2015年台灣先驅性推廣案例首見於關渡平原。
過程中，SRI世界主席 Uphoff 教授與日本SRI主席山路永司教授多次來台指導。本書即編譯SRI主席 Uphoff 教授20多年來傳播SRI的經驗及台灣相關應用成果，希望透過本書能讓更多人認識與了解SRI及其衍生的作物強化栽培體系SCI的精義，共同為未來找出跨世紀永續農業的新契機。
