Seven Swords (2005) (DVD) (2-Disc Edition) (2019 Reprint) (Hong Kong Version)1 people found this review helpful
October 23, 2020 Good movie from Tsui
When reading most of the comments here which dislike Seven Swords, at first I feel bit reluctant to buy the Dvd. However, because of I am interested in the castings (Donnie, Leon, Charlie) & also the "big name" of Tsui Hark, finally I decide to buy this movie. And I feel.... satisfied. The story is simple & straightforward. The action scenes are very cool. Indeed, not all those seven heroes are described well in this movie & we should understand that it is due to the limited time. I think that Tsui have already put the great effort into this movie to make it accessible to the viewers.
My Cape Of Many Dreams (Taiwan Version)September 30, 2020 Meng De Yi Shang
My Cape Of Many Dreams is one of the five of Li Xiu Ling's Qiong Yao movies. That's true "My Cape" is below "Errant Love", but this movie is still enjoyable to watch. In addition, Xiu Ling looks very pretty here. But I don't like that she chooses Chin Han over Kenny Bee. Anyway....Qiong Yao has already decided it like that.
East Palace West PalaceSeptember 30, 2007 Below Average Movie
The only reason for watching this movie is Hu Jun. His portrayal as a cop is excellent. See his face expression, his gesture or body languange, his tone of voice, etc... he manages them very well. But the other things about this movie, I cannot recommend. Also Vicky Zhao appears very briefly, she almost has nothing to do with the story.
Curiosity Kills The Cat (DVD) (China Version)2 people found this review helpful
September 30, 2007 Surprisingly Good !
A rich housewife. An unfaithful husband. A lusty beauty-salon owner. A young cute plus curious photographer. A plain-looking security guard. They live in the same apartment building. Then, accident by accident happens until somebody is killed and the other is put into jail. But, it is not the ending. The thing later gets more complicated!
In my taste for Asian cinema, this movie is a solid drama thriller that's really worth to watch. The director tells the story by giving you pieces of puzzle, one by one. When you complete your puzzle, you will be surprised by the end. Hmm....

September 30, 2007 Don't Miss It !
Brigitte Lin, Li Hsiu Ling, Ke Jun Hsiung, Lin Sui Yang, Weng Jia Ming - The casts are just so amazing! I am a big fan of Qiongyao's melodrama movies and it is nice to see all those of Qiongyao's leading actors and actresses play distinctive roles in a very different movie.
Using the background of Shanghai's war against Japan, Brigitte and Hsiu Ling act as Chinese spies to oppose Japan secretly. They disguise as singer, waitress, harpist, party-lady, and so on. Of course a smart director (in this case Ting Shan Si) will use this opportunity to do "fashion-parade" for those two Chinese beauties. Indeed, they change outfit many times. With the addition of Pat Ha as the pretty villain lady, Flag Of Honour for sure will refresh your eyes! So...don't miss it !
King And The Clown (Cantonese & Korean Version) (Hong Kong Version)(1)Our Price: US$7.992 people found this review helpful
September 16, 2007 You will Love it :)
"King and The Clown" basically talks about what is called the happiness. The king is often depressed, anxious, unstable because of the shadow of his family tragedy in the past. And the situation is changed when he is interested to a "pretty" clown from a group of singing & dancing street-performers. Yes, the king finds back his happiness. However, he doesn't realize that his intimate relationship with his beloved clown will lead to... other tragedies. This gay-theme movie, besides has a strong plot, is also visually artistic. It's stunning from begin to end. Truly an excellent Korean drama movie!
No Regret (DVD) (Limited Edition) (Korea Version)September 8, 2007 You will NOT Regret !
Wow! I have never seen a Korean movie like this before. The movie is daring in showing naked bodies and explicit love scenes. It also has a beautiful plot. The story of a poor guy to be loved by a rich guy, sounds like a beautiful fairy tale, isn't it? But love must face reality, too. Love doesn't always run smoothly. That's why the two main characters here have a long way to go, have problems they have to overcome, and sometimes also... feeling they have to deny. So... how about the ending? Well, just see it. Whether the ending is happily ever after or not, you will not regret watching it!

September 8, 2007 A Good Simple Movie
I admit that Lan Yu is one of the most important works from director Stanley Kwan. Compared to other gay movies; indeed, it isn't as great as The Wedding Banquet and it isn't as complicated as Eternal Summer or Bishonen. But...this Mainland China's production is succeed to take away audience's attention from other movies in the same genre. Lan Yu comes to us with its own color, its own characteristic. The plot, although is very simple, is still up-to-date. Then, the soundtrack (taken from a hit old song in 1990s) still has a power to "move" audience's feeling. And finally, the ending which is similar to those of many Taiwanese movies around 1970s, well...an old-fashion ending (I think), is still effective to break audience's heart. And how about the performance of main actors? Hu Jun play quite well as Shandong. Liu Ye as Lanyu even acts better! But I wonder if Liu Ye has a more "charming" face, the movie would be more nice :-)
Eternal Summer (VCD) (Hong Kong Version)September 3, 2007 Yup! I like it
The first time I watched this movie, my conclusion was... well, it is just a so-so slow-pace gay movie. But the more I view it, the more I find out the strength of this movie. I realize that Eternal Summer is one of the rare germs in Asian world of gay cinema. Good camerawork. Nice storyline. Strong performances of the three young leading-stars (especially Joseph Chang). The low pace of this movie, instead of make me a bit boring, later I find out that this one gives me more rooms to think deeply of relationship or secret among those three main stars. By the way, have you experience... When the first time you listen to a new song, you aren't too interested; but after listening many times, then you're getting like it more and more? Eternal Summer is a kind of like that. You will like it after you watch for the second time or more...
The Wedding Banquet (DVD) (Taiwan Version)September 1, 2007 Best Gay Movie so far....
I have seen quite many Asian gay movies. But no one of those movies can be compared with this one! This movie is really great. At one scene, it will make you laugh. And at other scene, it will make you cry. Ang Lee is really expert in doing how to turn a common plot into an interesting movie. And the acting of the main stars is just so great, especially May Chin & Gui Ah Lei. Only Winston Chao (a newcomer at that time)that needs to be polished a little bit.
