孔子是西元前6世紀到西元前5世紀中國春秋時期偉大的哲學家、政治家和教育家。孔夫子的廟宇、墓地和府邸位於山東省的曲阜。孔廟是西元前478年為紀念孔夫子而興建的，千百年來屢毀屢建，到今天已經發展成超過100座殿堂的建築群。孔林裡不僅容納了也夫子的墳墓，而且他的後裔中，有超過10萬人也葬在這裡。當初小小的也宅如今已經擴建成一個龐大顯赫的府邸，整個宅院包括了152座殿堂。曲阜的古建築群之所以具有獨特的藝術和歷史特色，應歸功於2000多年來中國歷代帝王對孔夫子的大力推崇。
