Andy Lau seeks revenge in The Adventurers, a continent-jumping action-adventure directed by ace Hong Kong filmmaker Ringo Lam! Lau is Wai Lok Yan, a Cambodian who as a child witnessed the murder of his parents at the hands of vicious bad guy Ray Lui (Paul Chun). Yan grows to adulthood, but still thirsts for revenge. His first attempt goes awry, but he's saved by Mona (Rosamund Kwan), Ray Lui's treacherous mistress. Yan regroups for another revenge attempt, but he's intercepted by the CIA, who wish to use Lui's daughter Crystal (Jacklyn Wu) against him. Yan agrees to be their operative, and insinuates himself into Crystal's life. But trust soon turns to love, and Yan must make the ultimate decision: fulfill his lifelong goal of revenge, or break the heart of the girl who loves him. It all comes together in an explosive climax pitting Yan against Ray Lui, and Mona against Crystal!
