Chung Ji Young, the director of National Security and Unbowed, again examines and challenges the costs of justice in the 2022 film The Boys. The Korean crime drama is based on the true story of the Nara supermarket robbery and murder case that happened in 1999, and the three men who were wrongfully convicted of the crime. Sol Kyung Gu (Kingmaker) stars as a veteran officer reinvestigating the case that jailed The Boys. The film also co-stars Yoo Jun Sang (Hotel by the River), Jin Kyung (Beasts Clawing at Straws), Heo Sung Tae (Hunt) and Yeom Hye Ran (Citizen of a Kind).

[ストーリー]
真実を捜し出せ—１９９９年、全羅北道参礼のウリスーパーマーケットで強盗殺人事件が発生した。捜査は難航を極めたが、じきに警察は近所に住む３人の少年を容疑者として逮捕。事件は終結したかのようにみえた。翌年、“狂犬”の異名を持つ敏腕刑事のファン・ジュンチョル（ソル・ギョング）のもとに、ウリスーパー事件の真犯人に関する通報が入る。再捜査を続けていくうちに、当時の捜査内容や記録に不可解な点が多いことに気付いていくファン。やがてファンは事件に隠された秘密と警察・検察の暗部を目の当たりにするのだが…。果たしてファンは少年たちの無実を証明することができるのだろうか。
