Again directed by Tanaka Ryo and written by Kosawa Ryota, Episode of the Hero sends the swindling tag team of Nagasawa Masami, Higashide Masahiro and Kohinata Fumiyo to Malta for a new battle of deception. Besides bringing back regulars like Eguchi Yosuke, Kote Shinya and Hirosue Ryoko, The Confidence Man JP: Episode of the Hero adds new cast members Matsushige Yutaka, Seto Koji, Shirota Yu and Ikuta Erika.

The legendary con man known as Tsuchinoko III has died. Dako (Nagasawa Masami), Boku-chan (Higashide Masahiro) and Richard (Kohinata Fumiyo) all honed their skills under this "hero" whose name is passed down each generation to the greatest Confidence Man. Rumors are that someone going by Tsuchinoko has been stealing artwork. After laying low for a long time. Dako, Boku-chan and Richard decide to compete against each other to see who is the best. The stage: Valletta, the historically and artistically rich capital of the island nation of Malta. The target: the ancient Greek sculpture "Dancing Venus" currently owned by a retired Spanish mobster. Each swindler approaches the scam in their own way, but the police and Interpol are also closing in. Who will be the final "hero"? And who is Tsuchinoko?
