　　在妓寨麗春院長大的韋小寶（張衛健）不學無術，終日遊手好閒、偷奸取巧，是個不折不扣的小無賴。一次，天地會總舵主陳近南（鄭伊健）刺殺清廷重臣鰲（徐錦江）不遂，負傷逃入麗春院，得小寶相救。近南見小寶機靈過人，遂收其為徒。
　　康熙（譚耀文）派心腹太監海大富（吳孟達）和御妹建寧公主（林心如）南下訪尋高手，以殲滅奸臣鰲拜。海公公和建寧以為小寶武功蓋世，決意徵用他為朝廷效力。小寶入宮後，竟誤打誤撞建立連串功蹟，極得康熙賞識，成為宮中大紅人。建寧刁蠻任性，卻對小寶情有獨鍾，但小寶不甘受她管束，反而樂於周旋於雙兒（吳辰君）、沐劍屏（張茜）、方怡（麥家琪）和阿珂（朱茵）眾女之間。
　　既為陳近南的得意弟子，又是皇上的頭號寵臣，小寶左右逢源，感到忠義兩難全。他厭倦了這種生活，最終於棄功名利祿，帶著妻子們笑傲江湖。

O I just love this series with dicky...he played his part so good...i love him in this series because he's always so funnie and loving...also all the girls who played his wives were so good too...I just had to watch it over again because it was so good...I cried at the end when Ruby died in Dicky arm...it was so sad...

Absolutely horrendous remake. If you were going remake a show, bring new ideas in but please don't destroy the basis of it. Dicky's acting was incomparable to Tony and Jordan. This is really something that needs to be put in the garbage...

She impresses me with her beauty and talent in this series. She shows that she has what it takes to portray a cute and cheerful princess successfully. She was properly the only reason that kept me watching until the end!

Overall, the series is GREAT!! wonderful!

I loved watching it! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I really liked watching it and some bits are funny. I liked pretty much all the actors and actresses esp. Ruby and Dicky.It's really touching when the princess (Ruby Lin) dies in the end. I think she shouldn't of died cos she hepled him (Dicky character) to work for the king so he has money. Why was he so upset when t he most ugliest wife died but didn't cry at all when the princess died!
