A funeral meal brings out family stories and secrets in The First Supper. Sometani Shota, Toda Erika, Kubozuka Yosuke, Nagase Masatoshi and Saito Yuki form the family at the center of writer-director Tokiwa Shiro's first feature-length film.

Photographer Rintaro (Sometani Shota) and his sister Miyako (Toda Erika) return to their hometown for their father's (Nagase Masatoshi) funeral. During funeral preparations, their mother Akiko (Saito Yuki) suddenly announces that she has cancelled the meal order and will cook the meal for the wake herself. The first course: fried eggs. With each familiar dish come various family memories going back to 20 years ago when their parents married and formed a family of five along with older brother Shun (Kubozuka Yosuke), Akiko's son from a previous marriage.
