Directed by Clarence Fok, the 1988 Hong Kong romance The Greatest Lover offers a male take on My Fair Lady. Chow Yun Fat stars as a bumpkin-turned-gentleman opposite late superstar Anita Mui, Hong Kong's trendy icon in the 1980s. The movie also features Eric Tsang and Shing Fui On as Chow Yun Fat's pals, and Nina Li, Pauline Wong and Elizabeth Lee as socialites. With such a strong cast, The Greatest Lover is no doubt a classic that many Hong Kong cinema fans would like revisit.

Country bumpkins Fat (Chow Yun Fat), Wei (Eric Tsang) and Chicken (Shing Fui On) plan to rob a bank in Hong Kong. But Fat accidentally ends up at a high society ball where socialite Lychee (Nina Li) is making a fool of Headman Sze (Wong Ching). Sze wants to take revenge by training Fat to become a suave gentleman to date the girls. Fat's trainer, Anita (Anita Mui), applies her experience in training models to turn Fat into every woman's dream guy. After Lychee, Fung (Pauline Wong) and Fiona (Elizabeth Lee) all fall for Fat, Sze decides to reveal his true identity. But Fat finds himself in love with his tutor Anita...
