Retro-Hong Kong Cinema fun exists in The Haunted Cop Shop, a wildly entertaining horror-comedy from comedy director Jeff Lau! Ricky Hui and Jacky Cheung are Chiu and Macky, two silly cops who witness the resurrection of an evil Japanese vampire. The vampire takes its first bite out of two-bit thief Ming (Billy Lau), but he isn't around long enough to prove the cop's horror story to their skeptical comrades. So, Chiu and Macky go about trying to prove the existence of the vampires, which proves both hilarious and potentially deadly. Many eighties Hong Kong Cinema pleasures exist in The Haunted Cop Shop, including rapid fire comedy, energetic action sequences, and the always entertaining sight of acrobatic Taoist exorcism. 香港的其中一間警署，三十年前曾是日軍侵略香港時的軍營。因為戰敗，日本軍官在裡面切腹自殺了。據說他們的陰魂不散，魂魄依然逗留在這所警署當中，並會在孟蘭節鬼門大開之時出沒……

金麥基（張學友　飾）與孟超（許冠英　飾）都是這警署的警員，但他們一直不相信警署的恐怖傳說。小偷蛇仔明（樓南光　飾）被囚於拘留所內，竟誤闖鬼門關，將惡鬼大佐放出。他亦被噬變成殭屍，正欲逃離差館，不料被金麥基與孟超所擒。兩人不信蛇仔明已成新鬼，結果太陽一出來，蛇仔明即為飛灰，他們才相信警署內的確有陰魂。他們把情況報告上司芬妮（陳家齊　飾），正想查明真相，又有不明女屍，死狀似遭獸噬。兩人深信是大佐所為，遂引芬妮到驗屍房查看女屍。此時，鬼王也出場了……他們能否成功驅鬼？

My taste in movie and TV series watching must be out of wack ! Others rated this movie with 4-5 stars. Based on these ratings
I purchased the DVD version.

Alas, what a great disappointment ! With a cast of big-name stars, this is a total trash movie. Very poorly done. Not funny, not
scary, not anything !

This is an excellent comedy film to come out of Hong Kong from 1987. Hui Kwoon-ying and Jacky Cheung make ideal partners in this wacky film. But it, you will love it. -Phillip Wong-
