YesAsia Editorial Description

The Hui Brothers followed up their ultra successful 1974 Cantonese comedy masterpiece Games Gamblers Play with the even funnier The Last Message the following year. Michael Hui again takes on director and scriptwriter roles in addition to starring alongside his younger brothers Sam (who also sings the catchy theme song) and Ricky. This time, they bring the loony escapade to a madhouse where crazy people meet even crazier people!

Michael plays Tim, a janitor at the mental asylum, who, together with his partner in crime, Nurse Lee (Sam Hui), makes profits from robbing dead inmates of their valuable remains. One day, the asylum takes in a new mental patient Cheng (Roy Chiao), whom Tim and Lee suspect owns a large quantity of antiques. They employ every means possible to get Cheng to tell where his treasures are hidden...

It actually looks better the second time around Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I watched this movie in HK when it first came out after the successful "Game Gamblers Play". At that time the movie was not that appealing to me. The film didn't do as good as Hui's first film in the HK box office. I guess the humor was a little too deep for HK folks at that time. But I enjoyed this movie much more when I watched it almost 25 years later. The joke about that waiter who was obessive about cleaniness and used his tongs for everything is still circulating in the Internet these days.
