Crypto and blockchain technology has been on the tip of everyone's tongue in recent years, and now there's even a film about it. The feature debut of Jack Hsu, the corporate thriller The Last Thieves spins a modern-day tale about a group of young idealists who want to use blockchain technology to fight the man and steal money back from the financial establishment. The ambitious film brings together the notable Taiwan ensemble of Yen Tsao (Love in Vain), Joanne Tseng (Refresh Man), Megan Lai (Fagara), Wu Chien Ho (A Sun) and Hou Yan Xi (The Tenants Downstairs), plus Hong Kong veteran Eric Tsang.

Idealistic entrepreneur Yin Tzu Hsiang (Yen Tsao) dreams of using blockchain technology to get rid of the old economic system and create a new decentralized financial model that's no longer controlled by the few. Tzu Hsiang, along with his girlfriend Chen Hsi (Joanne Tseng) and other like-minded partners, go up against ruthless investment company CEO Hsu Ching (Megan Lai), financial tycoon Lin Ming Yen (Eric Tsang) and monetary authority chief Kao (Chen Fa Tong). Faced with the harshness of reality and betrayal, Tzu Hsiang soon realizes that the world he dreams of may be out of reach.
