Taiwanese author Wen Shi Ren's popular fantasy wuxia novel The Legend of Qin has been adapted into films, comics and animation. The story now transforms into a TV drama starring Lu Yi, Michelle Chen, Jiang Jinfu, Hu Bingqing, Sun Yizhou, Qin Junjie and Gina Jin. Produced by Tangren Media and directed by Lee Kwok Lap, the star-studded wuxia drama revolves around three young heroes who train and experience various trials in a mystical city in order to fight against Emperor Qin and his tyrannical campaign to unify the six states during the Warring States period.

Jing Ke (Geng Le), the top swordsman of the martial world, is sent by the Yan to murder Emperor Qin but he is eventually killed. Before his death, he asks his friend Ge Nie (Lu Yi) to take care of his only son Tianming (Jiang Jinfu), who has a secret power growing within that will make him the biggest threat to Emperor Qin's unification of China. Ge Nie protects Tianming from Emperor Qin's persecution but he is injured during their escape. Enraged, Emperor Qin orders prime minister Li Si (Yu Zikuan) to eliminate them so Li Si entices Ge Nie's acquaintance Wei Zhuang (Sun Yizhou) to help.

While running away from the Qin forces, Ge Nie fortunately meets a group of Mohist masters, Shaoyu (Qin Junjie) from the Chu state and Gao Yue (Hu Bingqing), daughter of the head of Mohism. They travel to Machinery City, the hiding place of the Mohists. However, Machinery City is no longer safe as Wei Zhuang teams up with anti-Mohist mechanics expert Gongshu Chou (Xiao Bing) to form an assassin group and seize the city. To safeguard Machinery City, Ruanmu Rong (Michelle Chen), one of the leaders of Mohism, sends Tianming, Shaoyu and Gao Yue into the forbidden grounds of the sanctuary where they undergo various tests and grow stronger to fight against their enemies.
