Nagasawa Masami plays a woman who suddenly discovers that everything she knows about her boyfriend is a lie in The Lies She Loved. Written and directed by Nakae Kazuhito (Permanent Land), the film co-stars Takahashi Issei (Recall) as the boyfriend, as well as singer Daigo, former AKB48 member Kawaei Rina (Ajin: Demi-Human) and Yoshida Kotaro (The Third Murder).

Kawahari Yukari (Nagasawa Masami) seems to be the kind of woman that other women aspire to be. Professionally, she stands at the frontline of her company, and in her personal life, she is in a stable relationship with research doctor Koide Kippei (Takahashi Issei). One day, the police show up at her home to ask about Kippei who suddenly collapsed from a brain hemorrhage. The police want to know: Who is he? It turns out that his driver's license and doctor's license are fake. Even his name is fake. Shocked by the situation, Yukari hires private detectives Kaibara (Yoshida Kotaro) and Kimura (Daigo) to dig into the identity of the man now lying unconscious in the hospital.

She was the ideal to which women aspire. Yukari Kawahara (Masami Nagasawa), a career-focused woman who works for a beverage manufacturer, has been living with her boyfriend Kippei Koide (Issey Takahashi), a dependable medical researcher, for 5 years. One night she instead receives a sudden visit from the police. Kippei has collapsed from subarachnoid hemorrhage, at which point it is discovered that his driver’s license, and medical license are falsified, and that even his profession and name are mere lies.

Shocked at having been deceived and unable to hide her doubts as to the man’s true identity, Yukari makes up her mind to consult with a private investigator, Takumi Kaibara (Kotaro Yoshida). With help from Kaibara, Yukari learns that it is located somewhere along the Seto Inland Sea, and goes seeking Kippei’s secrets…
