YesAsia Editorial Description

From popular screenwriting duo the Hong Sisters comes the hit supernatural romantic comedy Master's Sun! Working with the Hong Sisters again after The Greatest Love, Kong Hyo Jin stars as a harried warmhearted woman who can see ghosts, while So Ji Sub (Ghost) is the man who reluctantly becomes her haven from the spirits. A triumphant blending of genres, Master's Sun incorporates horror elements and jump scares while ultimately telling very human stories through its ghostly encounters and the cute budding romance between the protagonists. Singer-actor Seo In Guk (Answer Me 1997), Kim Yoo Ri, Han Bo Reum, Hwang Sun Hee and Infinite's L also co-star in the charming drama.

Gong Shil (Kong Hyo Jin) hasn't been able to rest properly since she acquired the skill of seeing ghosts after a serious accident. Everywhere she goes, she runs into ghosts seeking her assistance. There's no escape until the day she meets Joong Won (So Ji Sub), a cold and cynical mall CEO who never got over the trauma of being kidnapped as a teenager. When Gong Shil touches Joong Won, the ghosts inexplicably disappear. The two agree to a mutually beneficial relationship in which he makes the ghosts go away for her (via skinship!), and she solves the haunting problems that affect him and his business, including his ex-girlfriend's ghost.

Product Information

The story revolves around a woman who can see ghosts and a man who tries to protect her, and is described as a drama with horror and romantic elements infused together.
Joo Joong Won (So Ji Sub) is a miserly, greedy and conceited CEO, who measures all human relationships through money. Meanwhile, Tae Gong Sil (Gong Hyo Jin) is a melancholy and tearful assistant, who is able to see ghosts after an accident and thus suffers from insomnia. She lives a very reclusive and closed-off life due to her ability.
The story is being touted as “soul healing” drama that brings together very different types of people: one who can see and hear things that no one else in the world can and another who only hears and see things he wants too. As Joo Joong Won starts to believe in Tae Gong Shil’s claim of being able to see ghosts, these two people will grow together in faith and in character.

Update Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I got the 4-DVD set by Poh Kim. I can confirm that it's in widescreen (16:9), with traditional Chinese & English & Malay subtitles. Master's Sun is a great K-drama. I enjoy it very much.

Questionable subtitles Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I had the same problem with this set like the previous reviewer.
The drama is awesome and if you watched it online then you
must know more or less what each character should be saying.
Unfortunately, this set comes with a lot of typos and the subtitles
are sometimes very inaccurate. Like for example instead of using the word
"find" they used the word "fine". So at times you have to figure out
what they are trying to say. Overall the subtitles are not what I expected,
however, you can still figure out what they are saying so that's good.

The package I received was damaged, two disks had to be placed in cd holders
because they were wobbling inside the set. To prevent scratching I had
to separate them; luckily they were not scratched.

This drama comes with a calendar, postcards and a picture book. If you are
a person who enjoys watching special features be warned they are not subtitled.
Which is kind of sad because there are A LOT of special features in this set.

Update Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
So I wanted update my previous review. I am now half way through the drama. The subtitles are still very good, there have been only a few slightly off subs. The other issue I came across was that a bunch of the music was different. If you are buying and then watching for the first time its probably fine but I had watched this drama many times and some of my favorite songs are missing. They also replaced Wonder Girls Nobody song during the ghost dog episode with another song.
I am assuming that this is because it was from Singapore and maybe the copyright is different.

Adore this Drama Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I watched this drama originally online and fell in love with it. I have grown incredibly attached the characters and enjoy re watching the drama. There is good chemistry between the two leads and the story is really interesting and not incredibly predictable or cliche. So I ordered it from yesasia because I heard good things about the subtitles. I have only watched the first episode so far but the subtitles are rather good. I got really nervous after reading the other reveiw but so far I have had no problems. If you want to see something similar I have found the subtitles to be very close to the ones they have on viki.
