The sudden death of Bruce Lee in 1973 shocked the world. Filmmaker Jim Markovic spent four years and made The Real Bruce Lee, using rare footage of Lee to show the true story of the kung fu legend. The first half of the film documents Lee's life as an actor, from his beginning as a promising child star in Wealth is Like a Dream (1948), to his eventual rise to international superstardom following his revolutionary kung fu films. Actor Ho Chung Tao (The New Game of Death, Behind Bruce Lee) and Korean action choreographer Choi Min Kyu recount Lee's life stories. The second half of the film is packed with action sequences paying homage to Bruce Lee and performed by action actor Dragon Lee (Bravado of a Lady Fight), who is a famous admirer of the icon. The Real Bruce Lee also analyzes Lee's Jeet Kune Do, and explains how his martial arts and philosophy have influenced the world.
