Directors Guan Hu (The Eight Hundred), Frant Gwo (The Wandering Earth) and Lu Yang (Brotherhood of Blades) helm the Chinese anthology war drama The Sacrifice, which is set in 1953 in the final days of the Korean War. The war epic recounts the experiences of China's People’s Volunteer Army during the Jincheng Campaign or Battle of Kumsong, one of the last battles of the Korean War. The Sacrifice shows the same events from three perspectives, in chapters titled "Soldiers," "Adversaries" and "Gunners," as PVA soldiers defend, rebuild and cross a crucial bridge at great cost. Wu Jing, Zhang Yi, Deng Chao, Vision Wei, Li Jiuxiao and Oho Ou are among the soldiers of The Sacrifice.

[ストーリー]
１９５０年、朝鮮戦争が勃発。北朝鮮援護のため出兵した中国人民志願軍は、アメリカを中心とする国連軍を相手に、苦戦を強いられていた。１９５３年７月、『金城の戦い』がはじまる。戦場に部隊を送るには、金剛川に掛けた木造の橋を渡らねばならない。しかし、米空軍爆撃機が何度も襲来し、その度に橋の修理をすることになる。中国軍が米軍に対抗できる術は、２台の高射砲のみ。その砲台を任された小隊長の張と関は、仲間を護るため自らの命を賭して米軍機に戦いを挑むが……。
