The Korean remake of the hit 2011 Japanese series Kaseifu no Mita, the dark family drama The Suspicious Housekeeper (a.k.a. The Mystery Housemaid) stars Korean Wave queen Choi Ji Woo in the title role of the stern and mysterious housekeeper who helps a dysfunctional family overcome a tragedy. Her character Park Bok Nyeo never betrays any emotions or facial expressions, but her coldly efficient ways lead her employer, a widowed father played by Lee Sung Jae, and his four children to confront and heal the wounds left by their mother's death.

Popular teen actress Kim So Hyun, who plays the eldest daughter in the drama, sings "First Love" for the soundtrack of The Strange Housekeeper. The OST also includes Kim Ye Lim's "I'm Asking You," U Sung Eun's Twilight and Kang Ji Woo's "Twinkle, Twinkle, Our House," featuring original dialogue by Choi Ji Woo.

수상한 가정부 OST는 이미 발표된 싱글들을 재믹싱하여 드라마에 삽입되었던 배경음악들을 추가하여 발표하였다. 유성은의 "Twilight"은 이미 디지털로 발표한 버젼과는 다르게 기타인트로를 추가하여 드라마상 충격적인 엔딩때 삽입되었던 버젼을 수록하였다. 김예림의 "부탁해요"는 김예림 특유의 몽환적인 목소리로 어두운 현실을 마주한 가족들의 희망을 향한 메세지를 표현한 곡으로 드라마의 명장면들에 삽입되어 가장 인상적인 OST곡으로 기억되는 곡이다.
그 밖에 출연자였던 김소현의 앳된 소녀의 매력으로 향수에 젖게해주는 곡인 "첫번째 사랑을 시작해요"는 모던락 스타일의 곡으로 수상한 가정부의 한결의 테마로 역을 맡은 김소현이 기교없는 깨끗한 목소리로 한결의 감정을 잘 표현하고 있으며 극중 오디션 참가곡으로 사용되어 기억에 남는 노래이다. 또한 강지우와 주인공 최지우의 Original dialogue로 시작하는 강지우의 사랑스러운 목소리와 최지우의 건조한 극중 대사가 묘하게 미소를 짓게 만드는 매력을 가진곡으로 드라마 팬뿐만 아니라 집으로 향하는 길에 엄마와 아이가 함께 부르는 곡으로 추천하고 싶은 노래이다.
그 밖에 Main Theme로 사용되었던 "복녀 Theme op 1, 2"와 복녀의 신비스러움을 표현한 "Magic", 미스테리와 긴장감을 도왔던 "Dark home", "What Happened", 코믹적인 부분에 사용되었던 "Busy", 가족들의 갈등이 봉합되는 장면들에 사용되었던 "Home"등의 Score를 추가하여 드라마의 팬들에게 다시 한번 추억을 선사하는 OST가 될듯하다.
