We've all heard of tiger moms, but what about cat dads? Starring Vicki Zhao (Dearest) and Tong Dawei (American Dreams in China), comedy-drama Tiger Mom uses the modern Chinese phenomenon to tell the story of one young family.

Now that their daughter Qian Qian is five years old, Bi Shen Nan (Vicki Zhao) and Luo Su (Tong Dawei) find themselves starting to consider the matter of her education. After consulting some fellow young parents, they discover, to their shock, the incredible competitiveness of the school system. The opposing ways in which the young parents react to this piece of information cause cracks to appear in their marriage. Shen Nan promptly turns into a tiger mom, unyieldingly pushing Qian Qian to achieve academic excellence. Luo Su, on the other hand, turns into a cat dad, firm in the belief that kids should be allowed to roam free and have fun. Exacerbating the brewing conflict is the reappearance of Luo Su's ex-girlfriend, who's eager to rekindle the romance. Will the young couple be able to work through their issues? Or are they doomed to be driven apart by their disagreements on parenting?
