Nick Cheuk, who was a screenwriter on Wilson Yip's Paradox, makes his award-winning directorial debut with the devastating Hong Kong drama Time Still Turns the Pages. Produced by Derek Yee, the film explores the trauma of family abuse by sensitively capturing the experiences of a troubled boy striving to be loved and a depressed adult bearing the pain of his past. Writer-director Nick Cheuk won Best New Director prizes at the 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards, the 60th Golden Horse Awards and the 17th Asian Film Awards for the heartrending feature that became a sleeper hit at the Hong Kong box office thanks to strong reviews from critics and audiences. Lo Chun Yip (My Prince Edward), Ronald Cheng (Chilli Laugh Story), Rosa Maria Velasco (Everyphone Everywhere), Hanna Chan (Paradox) and child actor Sean Wong star in Time Still Turns the Pages.

Listless high school teacher Cheng (Lo Chun Yip) comes upon an anonymous suicide note at school. The contents of the note echo memories of his own past. Worried for the worst, Cheng races to find the student who wrote the note, while recalling memories of his shattered childhood with his brother, his mother (Rosa Maria Velasco) and his overbearing father (Ronald Cheng), whose strict academic expectations and abusive behavior ripped the family apart. As an adult, Cheng struggles with relationships, both with his ex-wife (Hanna Chan) and with his estranged father who is now critically ill.
